He collapsed inside the Lagos airport - Sources reveal cause of Ras Kimonos death
On Sunday, June 10, the Nigerian music industry mourned one of its veteran singers Ukeleke Onwubuya popularly known as Ras Kimono. He died at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
According to Punch, the deceased collapsed at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport on Saturday, June 9, while waiting to board a flight to the United States (US).
However, sources close to him further revealed that Kimono was immediately rushed to an unnamed hospital in Ikeja and then taken to another hospital on Lagos Island where he later died on Sunday morning.

The death of the artiste, who was a native of Onicha Olona in the Aniocha north local government area of Delta state, was confirmed by the president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Pretty Okafor and the Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Chief Tony Okoroji.
Ras Kimono died at the age of 60. He last performed at the recently held 2018 edition of Headies award which took place in April at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event has since thrown members of the Nigerian music industry, family, close friends and fans into deep mourning.
